SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) — A march to the Lincoln Tomb State Historic Site with a replica of Abraham Lincoln’s hearse will mark the anniversary of Lincoln’s funeral.

The march is planned Wednesday at 6:15 p.m. starting at the Old State Capitol State Historic Site. It marks the 151st anniversary of Lincoln’s funeral. The route will go past the Lincoln Home National Historic Site and then to the tomb at Oak Ridge Cemetery.

The Old State Capitol Foundation is sponsoring the march. It’s open to people who register in advance and wear clothing from the time period. Anyone can join once the march reaches Oak Ridge Cemetery’s historic Third Street gate.

The march will end at the receiving vault where Lincoln’s body was held until his tomb was built.

The hearse will be on display outside the Old State Capitol on Wednesday.
