MT. VERNON- Mount Vernon police responded to a report of a fight and one person armed with a gun at 10:21 pm Monday night in the 1800 block of Cherry Street.

Police had found 27 year-old Corbin Jones, and while speaking with him, Jones had ran away from police.

Jones was arrested and is charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, possession of a firearm with the serial numbers defaced, possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest.

He is currently held in the Jefferson County Justice Center on $200,000 bond.
