A local brewery has been awarded the “Edie” award from the Illinois Chamber of Commerce.

St. Nicholas Brewing Co. in Du Quoin is the only “Edie” winner not from the Chicago area.

In a press release, Chamber spokesperson Melissa Hahn says the brewery has had a significant impact on the city, creating 25 jobs and generating tourist dollars into the city’s economy.

Chamber President and CEO Todd Maisch says the Edie award honors those who imagine, design, invest, and build in Illinois, and by doing so bring jobs, growth, and prosperity to their respective communities.
