Metropolis, Ill. – Contract negotiations at the Honeywell plant in Metropolis are set to resume Monday.

News 3 reports Honeywell officials wrote a letter over the weekend, stating picketers were putting nails underneath tires of employees at the facility.

The United Steel Workers union is reportedly seeking a 5-percent raise and a guarantee on the number of union jobs at the plant. The latest contract between the two expired earlier this month.

Union workers at the plant also were locked out of the site in 2010 for more than a year during a contract dispute.
