Meridian School District Receives $8.5 Million For New Elementary School

The Meridian school district will see $8.5 million to build a new elementary school.

The money comes from the state and bond sales. The school district is drafting plans for the school with Baysinger Architects of Marion and bids for construction are expected soon.

The old elementary school closed in Oct. 2013 due to black mold in the walls. The district has used the high school and mobile classrooms to hold classes.
