A Carbondale man has been sentenced to time behind bars after pleading guilty to drug charges.
The Southern Illinoisan is reporting that 37 year-old Michael Jackson pleaded guilty to a charge of unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver. Jackson was in possession of between 500 and 2000 grams of a substance containing cannabis. He was sentenced to 5 years in prison for this charge.
While Jackson was out on bond for the first case, he delivered cannabis to a source working for the Carbondale Police Drug Task Force. He was sentenced to an additional year behind bars for this charge, and the sentences will run consecutively.
