Eldorado, Ill. – A man and woman are in custody after a possible kidnapping.

Police say 23-year-old Sonny Pilgrim and 19-year-old Courtney Godwin were arrested at a truck stop in southeast Missouri. Pilgrim was wanted for the alleged kidnapping of Godwin, although police say they’re still investigating whether Godwin left willingly.

Police say Pilgrim was arrested Wednesday and sent to a hospital in Saline County, but he fled and went to Godwin’s grandparent’s house, where he’s accused of stealing a Chevy Equinox.

Pilgrim is charged with armed robbery and kidnapping in Saline County as well as tampering with a motor vehicle and resisting arrest. Pilgrim and Godwin are both charged with unlawful possession of a stolen vehicle.
